MOUNT ST. MARY’S UNIVERSITY

Collaborate was recruited to join an established team to refocus the outreach efforts related to building a athletic recreation and wellness center at Mount Saint Mary’s University (MSMU). Facing stiff opposition from the westside special interest groups, Collaborate was able to implement a strategic outreach plan that included tested messaging, a paid canvass, a targeted support letter campaign utilizing state of the art texting technology,  digital ads, and targeted grassroots engagement efforts.  Total over 250 letters of support from the community here collected, and over 400 pledge/support cards. In addition to the outreach plan, Collaborate also worked to rebrand the outreach efforts to focus on the real-time needs and safety of the women who studied at Mount St. Mary’s University and focused on the health and safety of the students as a priority. With the overall goal of winning the majority of Los Angeles City Council and then-Councilmember Mike Bonin, with unanimous approval out the PLUM, the effort was successful and the Mount St. Mary’s Wellness Pavilion was approved for construction.
